Ghost Stories in October
Fall is my favourite time of year. There’s a snap in the air, a little icy touch to the wind, and the rainbows and clouds are chasing each other across the sky outside my window. Ghosts are on the prowl and Halloween is just a few weeks away. And I’m ready to tell some ghost stories!
This year, I’m kicking off the Spooky Month with a rare opportunity to scare some grownups instead of just kids. I’m hosting a night of ghost stories at the St John’s Storytelling Festival on October 1. “Ghosts That Walk Here” features spooky storytellers Randy Crane, Karin Murray-Bergquist and Jim Payne, as well as yours truly. We will be telling some terrifying tales, guaranteed to freeze your blood! Get your tickets soon because they are selling out fast.

I’m also booking schools for my annual Ghost Tour of Newfoundland Schools, October 13-30. So far I'm booked for schools from St Bride’s to Torbay, but there is still room for more. My visits can be presented virtually or in person, depending on the driving distance. In the hour-long presentation, I explain just why Newfoundland is one of the most haunted places in the world, and then I tell some Newfoundland ghost stories, including one that happened to me.
I’ve been doing the Ghost Tour almost every year since 2009. I just love it. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of standing up in front of a hundred kids and having them all gasp at the same time when I get to the scary parts.
